Understanding Unhealthy Anger Styles
Unhealthy anger typically presents in one or more of the following patterns:
Inward Anger
Inward anger occurs when anger is suppressed or turned inward rather than expressed. This style is often associated with self-blame, guilt, anxiety, depression, and physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, muscle tension, or chronic stress.
Outward Anger
Outward anger involves expressing anger aggressively toward others. This may include verbal outbursts, intimidation, threats, or physical aggression, often leading to interpersonal conflict, damaged relationships, workplace difficulties, or legal involvement.
Passive Anger (Passive-Aggressive)
Passive anger is expressed indirectly through behaviors such as avoidance, sarcasm, withdrawal, procrastination, or intentional inefficiency. While less overt, this style can erode trust, increase resentment, and disrupt healthy communication.
Whether you are self-referred or court-ordered, we offer Anger Management services in a respectful, non-judgmental environment focused on growth and accountability.
